On 15 September 2017 Hortense Jongen successfully defended her PhD entitled PhD manuscript ‘Combating corruption the soft way: the authority of peer reviews in the global fight against graft’ . Her PhD was passed without correction by the committee, consisting of Prof Ellen Gutterman (Toronto), Prof Anja Jakobi (Braunschweig), Prof Prof Hans Schmeets, Prof Sophie Vanhoonacker, and Prof Esther Versluis (all from Maastricht University).
